So typically Section 8 will either cover 100% or a percentage, maybe 70, 60, 70, 80% of the rent amount. If it doesn't cover 100%, then you do need to still verify that they can afford the 20%, 30%, whatever it is that they have to pay out of pocket. So you're still able to verify income if it's employment or child support or anything like that. For Section 8, they should be giving you some proof of income. You'll be working with Section 8 as well. The local housing authority will be working with you to basically give you the money. So it is in essence verified already, at least what is being provided by the public housing authority or the housing voucher. So you should know what that amount is going to be. What you need to do on your own is verify if they can also afford any amount that isn't covered by the housing voucher.
