The formalities of walking and talking like a business would require that you have operating documentation, that you maintain the integrity of it as a business separately from your individual checkbook and checking accounts and savings accounts, that when you are conducting business, that you are acting as the manager of the LLC or the member owner, depending on how the business is structured, and you're keeping separate accounting, and that those operating documents are reviewed.
