I have heard that many REITs have a limitation on withdrawing and they'll penalize withdrawals.

Most of the programs that offer this option specify that the total amount that the REIT could redeem in a year is 20% of the value of the REIT. They typically cap the redemption at 5% per quarter. One of the things we look at in our due diligence is what has been the recent and current redemption requests history.
